UniRide Setups Explained: eSUP, Explore eSUP, eKayak and eFoil

The Waydoo UniRide is one power system with five floats. The UniRide Core and its battery click into whichever float suits the day, so the same kit can be a paddleboard on Saturday and a kayak on Sunday. That only helps if you know what each float is for. Here they are one by one, with the figures the store publishes and the package each comes in.

How the system works

The UniRide Core is the solid power module shared by every setup. Together with the PowerFlight Battery 15, a 1.5 kWh pack that swaps in seconds, and the Smart Remote, it drives all five floats. The Foldable Propulsion Module retracts into the float when you do not need it, which leaves a flush bottom for shallow water, weed and beach landings. The floats are high-pressure inflatables. The Core does not inflate them; a hand pump comes with both packages. The eFoil is the one exception to the shared drive: it uses its own eFoil Module and mast.

eSUP: the everyday powered paddleboard

The eSUP float is 330 x 85 x 15 cm and is the float in both packages. It carries two riders up to 180 kg, runs for up to 5 hours and reaches up to 20 km/h. This is the setup for regular sessions: a lake before work, a stretch of coastline, a second person on the front. Paddle when you want to, use the drive when you want to cover distance. If this is the only way you plan to ride, the UniRide eSUP Bundle is the package to look at.

Explore eSUP: room for two and the gear

The Explore eSUP is the large float, 340 x 115 x 15 cm, with the highest payload in the range: two riders and up to 270 kg. It runs for up to 4 hours at up to 16 km/h. Waydoo describes it as the setup for longer journeys and gear-heavy days: fishing, camping, photography and touring. It is part of the UniRide All-in-One Pack.

eKayak: sit down and go further

The eKayak is a seated float, 325 x 77 x 40 cm, for one rider up to 150 kg. It runs for up to 5 hours, the joint longest in the range, and reaches up to 18 km/h. Waydoo built it for relaxed cruising, fishing and longer exploration, with electric power when you want it. Riders who prefer to sit, or who plan long days on calm water, should start here. It comes in the All-in-One Pack.

eFoil: flying above the water

The eFoil float is 165 x 60 x 15 cm and works with the eFoil Module and its mast. It is a one-rider setup with a maximum payload of 90 kg. Top speed is up to 35 km/h for a 75 kg rider, and runtime is up to 1 hour 20 minutes at a 12 km/h cruise. eFoiling is a skill you learn over a few sessions; our guide on how hard eFoiling is to learn covers what to expect. If flying is the main reason you are buying, compare it with a dedicated eFoil in UniRide eFoil or Flyer EVO.

The compact board: lower and quicker to turn

The fifth float is the shortest board in the range, 240 x 65 x 15 cm and 5.6 kg, for one rider up to 100 kg. Waydoo describes it as a lower, more responsive setup built for powered carving on flat water. It reaches up to 18 km/h and runs for up to 2 hours at a 12 km/h cruise. It is part of the All-in-One Pack.

The five setups compared

Setup Assembled size Riders / max payload Runtime Top speed Package
eSUP 330 x 85 x 15 cm 2 / 180 kg Up to 5 h 20 km/h Both
Explore eSUP 340 x 115 x 15 cm 2 / 270 kg Up to 4 h 16 km/h All-in-One
eKayak 325 x 77 x 40 cm 1 / 150 kg Up to 5 h 18 km/h All-in-One
eFoil 165 x 60 x 15 cm 1 / 90 kg Up to 1 h 20 min 35 km/h All-in-One
Compact board 240 x 65 x 15 cm 1 / 100 kg Up to 2 h 18 km/h All-in-One

Runtime was tested with one 75 kg rider, at 6 km/h for the eSUP, Explore eSUP and eKayak and at a 12 km/h cruise for the eFoil and compact board. Top speed was tested with one 75 kg rider in calm water over 30 seconds.

Matching the setup to the rider

If one person rides and paddling is the plan, the eSUP alone covers it. If two adults go out together with gear, the Explore eSUP carries the most. If someone in the family prefers to sit, the eKayak is the long-range option. If someone wants to fly, the eFoil is the only setup that lifts off, and it needs the All-in-One Pack. Our eSUP Bundle vs All-in-One Pack guide works through the package choice in detail.

Two cases where the UniRide is not the right tool. Riders who want dedicated eFoil flight, longer flying sessions or a heavier rider allowance are better served by a Flyer EVO, from the Lite to the Max Plus. And if you already own a paddleboard and only want assistance, the Subnado SUP Kit fits your own board.
