The Waydoo Flyer EVO is built as a modular system: board, battery, mast, propulsion unit, propeller and wings all come apart, and every part can be swapped or upgraded on its own. That matters for your budget, because your setup can grow with your riding instead of being replaced by it. This guide walks through the current Flyer EVO parts catalogue in the Waydoo Europe store, wing by wing and mast by mast, and finishes with a sensible upgrade order. Waydoo wings: Voyager and Glider front wings compared

The front wing shapes how the board feels more than most other parts. Waydoo's current Flyer EVO front wing range splits into two series with different jobs:

Voyager series. Designed for slow-speed riding and stability. Voyager wings give smooth lift and predictable control, which is exactly what you want while you are learning takeoffs and your first carves in calm water.

Glider series. Built for efficiency and distance. Glider wings use a higher aspect ratio and lower-drag shape to improve straight-line stability and turning control on longer runs.

Reading the names is simple: C stands for carbon and G for fiberglass, and a higher number means a larger wing. Larger wings lift earlier and carry heavier riders more easily; smaller wings turn more willingly once you are flying. A typical path is a 1500 size to learn on and an 1100 size once you want livelier handling. There is also the EVO Front Wing PRO 1100 (€714), a sharper, more responsive wing aimed at experienced EVO riders. Which Waydoo EVO mast should you ride?

Waydoo offers three mast options for the Flyer EVO, and the right one depends on where you ride and how long you have been riding:

  • 27" aluminium mast (€532). The shortest option. Less height means gentler consequences when the wing breaches and easier riding in shallower learning spots. The confidence pick for new riders.
  • 35" aluminium mast (€702). The tallest option. Extra height gives experienced riders more room to carve hard and keeps the board clear of the surface in choppier water.
  • 31" carbon mast (€1,724.25). The full-carbon construction keeps weight low and stiffness high, which translates into crisp, responsive handling and efficient energy transfer through every turn, at a height that works almost everywhere.

If you learned on the stock mast and ride flat water, the 35" aluminium is the natural next step. If you care most about how directly the board responds under your feet, the 31" carbon is the one to try at a dealer.

EVO propulsion units: Standard vs Performance

The propulsion unit is the motor pod that drives the propeller, and Waydoo sells three tiers for the Flyer EVO. The first two:

  • Propulsion Unit Standard (€678). A 4000 W unit in die-cast aluminium alloy, rated for riders up to 198 lb (about 90 kg), with the Glider G1500 or C1500 as the recommended wing pairing. This is the output class the EVO Lite ships with, and a practical replacement or everyday unit.
  • Propulsion Unit Performance (€1,209). A 6000 W unit, also die-cast aluminium, rated up to 287 lb (about 130 kg). This is the output the Max Plus, Pro Plus and Master ride on, with the stronger acceleration and headroom that heavier riders need.

What is the EVO Propulsion Unit Elite?

If you have been searching for "EVO Elite", this is the part in question. The EVO Propulsion Unit Elite (€1,633.50) sits at the top of the propulsion range. Waydoo describes it as the high-output heart of the Flyer EVO: built for riders who want strong, responsive power, and engineered for efficiency, reliability and durability in marine conditions. The Elite fits all four Flyer EVO boards, from the Lite to the Master, and is covered by Waydoo's warranty of up to two years. It makes sense for two kinds of riders: EVO Lite owners looking to move up from the Standard unit their board ships with, and riders on the Performance-equipped models who want the Elite as a primary or spare. Waydoo propeller options: standard and folding props

Two propellers are available for the EVO propulsion units:

  • EVO Propeller (€194). The standard precision-balanced replacement prop. Keep one in the bag: a nicked or bent prop costs efficiency on every ride.
  • Flyer EVO Folding Propeller (€422). The blades fold, which makes transport and storage between rides easier and keeps the prop protected in the board bag.

One note for owners of the older platform: the Waydoo 140-Glide Folding Propeller Kit (€349) is the folding prop for the Flyer ONE Plus, not for the EVO, so match the prop to the board you actually ride.

Gliding tails: 320 vs 322 carbon

The tail (rear stabiliser) is a low-cost way to change how the board turns. The Gliding Tail 320 (€145) is fiberglass-reinforced and tuned for steady control and efficient rear-wing support, a sensible replacement or first tuning part. The full-carbon Gliding Tail 322 (€351) is tuned for tighter, more playful turns: it deliberately trades some straight-line stability for agility and a livelier response.

Which upgrade should you make first?

A modular board invites tinkering, but the order below gives the clearest change for the money:

  1. Front wing. Changes how the board feels more than most other parts in this guide. Move from a learning wing to an 1100 size, or add a Glider for distance days.
  2. Gliding tail. The 322 carbon sharpens turning for less than the price of a wing.
  3. Mast. Go taller for carving room, or carbon for stiffness and response.
  4. Folding propeller. A convenience upgrade that pays off every time you pack the board.
  5. Propulsion unit. The step for Lite riders moving up from the Standard unit, or anyone who wants the Elite as a primary or spare.
