The parts that end a day on a Flyer EVO are often small. A remote that will not pair on the beach, a propeller that took a knock in the shallows, a charging cable left at home. This guide covers those parts, what to try before you order anything, and the most practical way to keep a replacement in the bag.
The remote
The Flyer EVO Remote (€424 at the time of writing) connects to the board over Bluetooth, is rated IP68, runs for up to 11 hours and charges magnetically over USB, in about two hours on a 5V/2A charger.
Before you replace one, rule out the common causes:
- It will not connect. Charge both the remote and the board and make sure the firmware is current. Restart both. On the remote, long-press Power and Minus together to drop the old connection and search again. When it picks up the mast signal, pull the trigger to pair.
- There is an R on the screen. That is reverse gear, not a fault. With the remote locked, hold Minus and Plus together for three seconds to switch it on or off.
- It will not charge. Try a different cable, or the same cable on another remote, and look into the charging port for corrosion. If it still will not power on normally, file a claim rather than opening it.
If the remote cannot find the mast signal at all, file a claim and attach a pairing video recorded in a quiet room with the startup sound audible, so the team can hear what is happening. Our Waydoo app guide covers the app side of the setup.
The propeller
The propeller is the most exposed part on the board: sand on a beach start, a shallow bottom, something floating just under the water. A chipped or bent blade costs efficiency and ride time before it stops working, so it is worth a look after every session in shallow water.
At the time of writing the standalone EVO propeller is not available to order. There are three ways to get back on the water:
- The Flyer EVO Spare Kit (€604), which includes a propeller alongside a remote, a charging cable and a screw kit.
- The Flyer EVO Folding Propeller (€422), made for the EVO propulsion unit, whose folding blades make transport and storage easier between rides.

If the remote is the only thing you need, buy the remote. If you ride often, travel to ride, or ride somewhere that a missing screw means driving home, the kit puts every common day-ender in one box. It is also, right now, the way to get a replacement propeller without changing propeller type.
Small hardware, and the habit that saves it
Stainless screws in salt water can seize if nobody touches them for a season. Rinse after salt-water sessions, and every so often loosen, clean and refit the screws you rely on. The screw kit in the Spare Kit covers the ones that go missing.
If the battery will not sit securely on the board, that is usually seating or the gasket rather than a fault. Check the compartment plate, the rubber plug and the gasket first. If anything looks damaged or is missing, stop and file a claim so the right part is sent. Battery questions in general are covered in our second battery guide.
Buy the part, or file a claim
A part that has been fitted and used in water cannot be returned unless it is defective, so confirm what you need before ordering. And a fault is not a purchase. If something fails that should not, file a claim and let the team decide the route. Cover across the EVO system is up to two years and varies by component.
